This doesn’t have to be forever.
It’s time to start choosing yourself.
Functional health for women ready to understand their bodies, uncover what may be driving their symptoms, and start putting themselves back into the equation.
A different way of looking at your health.
A HOLISTIC, ROOT-CAUSE APPROACH
Your symptoms aren’t happening in isolation.
You know when something in your body doesn’t feel right - even when you’ve been told everything looks “normal".
The exhaustion. The bloating. The hair loss. The changes in your mood, hormones, digestion, skin or sleep. That feeling that you’re doing everything you’re supposed to do, but you still don’t feel like yourself.
Your symptoms aren’t random. They’re part of a bigger picture.
I help you connect the dots.
HOW IT WORKS
We don’t guess.
We look deeper.
Your symptoms tell us part of the story. Your health history, lifestyle and functional lab results can help us understand the bigger picture.
I’m Mary Ireland, a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition (FDN) Practitioner supporting women across the UK. I use functional lab testing to help identify patterns, connect the dots and build a personalised approach around you.
Your health is more than numbers on a page.
BEYOND THE LABS
The body doesn’t exist separately from the life you’re living.
Functional lab testing can give us incredibly valuable insight into what’s happening beneath the surface. But it’s only part of the picture.
How you sleep. How you eat. Your environment. Your stress. Your relationships. The way you move through your day. The way your nervous system responds to the world around you.
It all matters.
Choosing Yourself is about looking at the whole picture - using science to understand the body, while never forgetting the person living inside it.
Choosing Yourself started with choosing myself.
MY STORY
For a long time, I knew something didn’t feel right — I just couldn’t explain why.
I was exhausted, painfully bloated, struggling with my skin, hair loss, sleep and changes in my body. I kept trying to fix each thing separately, but I never felt like I was getting any closer to understanding what was actually going on.
Finding functional health changed the way I looked at everything. For the first time, I stopped seeing my symptoms as separate problems and started looking at the bigger picture.
That journey eventually became Choosing Yourself — because learning to understand my body also taught me how to start choosing myself again.
